Questions, answers and better product copy.
Practical guidance for getting started, improving your results, managing saved work and understanding your allowance.
Getting started
What information should I enter?
Start with the product name, then add every fact a customer would find useful: brand, category, materials, main features, intended use, dimensions and verified care or compatibility information. Specific facts produce stronger copy than broad claims.
Which fields are required?
Only the product name is required, but a name alone will produce limited copy. For a useful result, include at least three meaningful features and describe who the product is for or how it is used.
How should I write the key features?
Enter short factual phrases separated by commas or new lines, such as “recycled cotton outer, adjustable strap, internal zipped pocket”. Avoid promotional wording here; Product Pen will turn the facts into customer benefits.
What belongs under “More product details”?
Use this area for dimensions, target customer, care instructions, compatibility, what is included in the box, a verified product story, or other details that do not fit the main fields. Do not include claims you cannot substantiate.
How do tone and language work?
Choose the tone that best matches your brand and product. Confident suits most retail copy; warm is conversational; luxury is restrained and refined; playful is more energetic; technical prioritises precision. The language field tells Product Pen which language to write in.
How do I request copy for product variants?
Add variant names such as colours, sizes or finishes in the Variants field, separated by commas. Product Pen will create a short description for each supplied variant without inventing differences you have not provided.
Getting better results
How can I improve a weak result?
Check the source information first. Add missing materials, distinctive features, intended uses and customer benefits you can verify. Choose a more suitable tone, then generate again. Clearer inputs are usually more effective than asking for longer copy.
Will Product Pen invent specifications?
It is instructed not to invent technical specifications, certifications, materials, dimensions, warranties or sustainability claims. AI can still make mistakes, so you must review every result against the product before publishing it.
Can I edit the generated content?
Yes. The result is a starting point you control. Copy any section into your shop or document and edit it to match your house style, legal requirements and product knowledge.
What is included in one result?
A successful generation contains a product title, short and long descriptions, feature bullets, an SEO title, meta description, keywords, tags and descriptions for any supplied variants.
Does generating a revised version use another generation?
Yes. Each successful request creates a new complete content package and uses one generation. If the AI service fails before producing a result, Product Pen restores the deducted generation automatically.
Saved work and CSV export
Where can I find earlier generations?
Open Account and choose Recent generations. Select any item to read the complete saved result in a spacious preview without leaving your account page.
Can I download my generated content?
Yes. Every account can download all generations as CSV. Open an individual saved generation to download just that record as a CSV or a formatted PDF. Downloads do not use your generation allowance.
What does the CSV contain?
Each row contains the generation date, product title, short and long descriptions, feature bullets, SEO title and description, keywords, tags and variant copy. The file uses UTF-8 encoding for compatibility with Excel and other spreadsheet applications.
What happens to my saved work when my allowance reaches zero?
Nothing is removed. You can still sign in, view your account, revisit saved generations and download your CSV. You only need more allowance when you want to create another result.
Plans, allowances and cancellation
Where can I see my Pen Pack orders?
Open Account and choose Order history. The private order page lists each completed one-off Pen Pack purchase, its Paddle transaction reference, purchase date and generations added. Paddle’s emailed receipt remains the authoritative tax invoice.
What counts as one product generation?
One successful request for a complete product content package counts as one generation, regardless of how many sections or supplied variants are included in that package.
Do Pen Pack generations expire?
No. Pen Pack generations remain in your account until you use them. They are separate from any monthly subscription allowance.
What happens to unused monthly generations?
Merchant and Catalogue allowances reset at the start of each billing period and do not roll over. Any separately purchased Pen Pack balance remains available.
Which allowance is used first?
When you have both an active monthly plan and a Pen Pack balance, Product Pen uses the monthly allowance first. This helps preserve your non-expiring Pen Pack generations.
Can I cancel a monthly subscription?
Yes. A scheduled cancellation prevents the next renewal while keeping your plan active until the end of the current billing period. Your access and remaining monthly allowance continue until that date.
Account and support
What if I forget my password?
Choose “Forgotten your password?” on the sign-in form and enter your account email address. Product Pen will send a single-use reset link that expires after one hour. Completing the reset signs out existing sessions for security.
How do I change my password?
Open Account, choose Change password, enter your current password and then choose a new password of at least 10 characters. Other signed-in sessions are closed for security.
How do I sign out?
Use Sign out in the header on any page. On smaller screens, you can also access account controls from the Account area.
What information is sent to the AI service?
The product details you submit are sent to OpenAI to create the requested content. Account passwords are never sent. See the Privacy policy for more information about service providers and data handling.
What should I do if something goes wrong?
Try the request once more and check that your product information is valid. If the problem continues, use the Support page and include your account email, the approximate time and what you were trying to do. Never send passwords or complete card details.
